Club Forbes 2024–25 Financial Overview

The financial year to 30 June 2025 closed strongly for Club Forbes, delivering a solid result and providing a platform for further growth. Total revenue exceeded $6.2 million, with a net profit of $220,572. This result reflects steady trading across bar, bistro, gaming, and entertainment operations, supported by disciplined cost management.

Employment costs rose in line with business activity, reflecting investment in people. New roles included additional staff for the Rosemary Café, a dedicated Advanced Gaming Compliance Officer in response to regulatory requirements, and extra reception staff. In addition, we resolved earlier staffing issues in the kitchen and now have a small, dedicated team delivering quality food. These appointments have strengthened service delivery, compliance, and the overall member experience.

Spending on member amenities also increased, funding raffles, entertainment, and community activities that boosted engagement and visitation.

Capital reinvestment continued as a priority. The club invested $899,820 in renovations and new equipment during the year, predominantly funded from cash flow. Key projects included new kitchen equipment (combi ovens, dishwashers, and plates), upgrades to function spaces, the addition of the Court 1 entertainment space and toilets, foyer and cinema improvements, and new carpets ordered for installation.

At the same time, borrowings continued to fall. Debt was reduced by $369,577 from the previous year. Over the past two years, borrowings have fallen from $1,892,332 in 2023 to $1,034,847 in 2025—an overall reduction of $857,485.

These results highlight Club Forbes’ ability to balance financial sustainability with reinvestment in staff, facilities, and the community.

With stronger revenues, improved staffing, and a modernised venue, the club is well placed to build on these achievements and deliver further improvements in 2025–26.

I would like to thank the Board for their continued guidance and support, and extend my appreciation to our management team and all of our wonderful staff for their contribution this year.
